Can you give us a brief history of your store?

We opened in May of 2004, and we were not originally BMX only, but probably 80%.

Spent a lot of time building the scene here in the California desert and we were able to become pure BMX in 2009. Over the years we have moved to four different locations as we struggled and grew with the continual change of retail and BMX. Our customers become friends, a vast community that shares our passion for BMX.

Over the past 18 years, we’ve managed to work with the people and brands we love and respect. This enabled us to curate a shop that is distinct. We aren’t interested in having every brand and product - we do the right brands and the right products.

What type of riders are part of your community and what makes your community so special?

Every type; inclusion. We are here for a good time and, somehow, for a long time now.

What’s your favourite BMX video?

My favorite BMX video would have to be Fit Life just because it was the first video I ever

owned. I’ve seen it probably a million times.

Who is your favourite BMX filmer?

I’d have to go with my boy Grant Castelluzzo. He’s just down to spend the 3 hours with

you until you get your clip and is always down for the mission no matter what.

Tell us what’s good about your local scene:

My local scene is currently Long Beach and it’s kinda weird just because it’s only pros

and sponsored riders but there is never a shortage of someone to ride with.

What’s your favourite BMX page on Instagram?

My favorite BMX page on Instagram is probably @jordangoooooodwin's Insta because he is always posting insane clips all the time.

What’s your Instagram? @dankrukbmx

What’s your favourite BMX video?

Aangles - Scott Marceau - It was the first premier I ever got to attend, and I just loved the vibe of the whole video. Seeing all my friends killing it, got me so stoked to ride.

Who is your favourite BMX filmer?

Ben Norris - He’s young and brought his own style into the BMX scene. He’s so humble and all his videos are so inspiring.

Tell us what’s good about your local scene:

I’m from Riverside, the local scene is dope. The WHYSOLATE? crew is always out filming and pushing themselves. We’re always working on new projects, it’s so dope being surrounded by a scene with so many motivated people. All the riders in my area are OG’s at heart, they’re down to put in work for a project instead of getting instant gratification from Instagram.

What’s your favourite BMX page on Instagram? @kingsrideshop all day, James seriously makes the funniest reels.

What’s your Instagram? @j.richardsonn

What’s your favourite BMX video?

It’s a tie between Above Below and Talk is Cheap. They both have a big influence on the way I ride and the way those videos were filmed/edited always stood out to me.

Who is your favourite BMX filmer?

I have a handful but Dalton Voss has been my favorite filmer for a good while now. I like how he brings a different twist to BMX videos, whether that’s music choice or just his editing style.

Tell us what’s good about your local scene:

My local scene is pretty small nowadays but definitely the humility.

What’s your favourite BMX video?

Cult Talk is Cheap. It’s perfectly shot and edited. The riding is insane and the music is super solid. It has all of the things that make a great video.

Who is your favourite BMX filmer?

Probably Tony Ennis right now. Just super clean filming. Shows the riding and the spot well. Not over done.

Tell us what’s good about your local scene?

I live in Long Beach so there’s always someone to ride with.

What’s your favourite BMX page on Instagram? Hard to pick just one. Pretty much all of my friends' pages are the ones that get me hyped.
