Meet The Owner: Daniel Fuhrmann (aka Fuhre)
Can you give us a brief history of your store?
Around 2003 we had quite a solid BMX scene in Stuttgart and Sebastian Pospischil, aka Seppl, started Kunstform as a very small study project. I think the first products he sold were the Flat TV DVDs and Artzone trousers. In his flat, which he shared with some other BMXers, he also had tyres and tubes - he saved some of my sessions with those. It was cool to hang out there, watching videos, running crazy legendary parts. Over time it grew and grew, and now we have a nice shop in the centre of Stuttgart and we also teamed up with flair BMX Shop in Berlin as Kunstform Berlin since 2019. Kunstform is a German word that means ‘art form’.
What type of riders are part of your community and what makes your community so special?
The BMX scene in and around Stuttgart is very diverse and there is something for almost every direction. There are flatlanders, racers with very good BMX race tracks, skate parks, bowls, trails and dirt spots. We have an old school scene, ride-outs, street riders and a few street spots in the city. We have many events and sessions. There are a lot of people trying to push BMX forward and I would say our region has already achieved a lot and there is still a lot in the pipeline for the future.
